I am a minister of the Word in the Uniting Church in Australia, in placement in Centenary Uniting Church, a suburban congregation in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I’m not from around here!—I was born in Yorkshire, and came here as a schoolboy in 1965 (a ‘10-pound Pom’!). I’m starting to get used to the place…
Originally, I trained in medicine, graduating in 1976, and spent a few years as a psychiatric registrar. I am married to Karen, and we have four great kids. And a dog, or at least he’s Karen’s.
Among other things, I chair the Uniting Church’s National Working Group on Worship and was an editor of Uniting in Worship 2, published in 2005. I’ve just submitted a PhD thesis on ordination liturgies, and now I’m trying to forget about it until I hear from the examiners.
